Diet worthless: In spite of what some doctors may tell you, studies have convincingly shown that diet has little benefit. Cherry juice may reduce the frequency of attacks.

Little impact: Food choices have little impact on most diseases, and only a mild effect even on gout. And an elevated uric acid isn't even an issue for most people who have it. If the person is actually sick from it (i.e., with clinical gout or urate nephropathy), medication is the key and restricting high-purine foods (famously organ meats) is wise; other foods less critical & makes life more difficult.
