Viral or...: Most of the time this is related to a viral illness which may include influenza. If you are also experiencing body aches and the fever is persistent it would be good to see your doctor for exam and treatment. Alternatively, if severe sore throat one possibility is strep throat. If symptoms are not severe, you may rest, drink fluids and take Tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen for pain and fever.
