Technically: the symptoms could be similar but only Pheo will present with elevated urine epinephrine. Hope this helps! Dr Z

Similar symptoms: Patients with Postural Orthostasis Tachycardia Syndrome(POTS) can exhibit many of the same symptoms as pheochromocytoma: palpitations, anxiety, tremor etc. This is because both conditions cause a hyper-adrenergic state. Epinephrine may be elevated but likely less than in pheochromocytoma. Increased norepinephrine on standing is the key finding in POTS. SEE: http://bit.ly/17qibWZ
