Is it normal for a child to have allergy symptoms for weeks at a time or could it be something else?

Allergies chronic: Nasal allergies do tend to be chronic, with longstanding congestion, allergic shiners in a child who performs an " allergic salute" from time to time. In contrast, viral colds last a week to 10 days, then resolve completely. Keep in mind it's normal for a child to have 8 or so colds a year, mostly in the wintertime.
