ANS dysfunction: Autonomic dysfucntion, or dysautonomia, often causes irregular pulse and blood pressure, sweating, digestive system symptoms, like bloating, lightheadedness with standing, and sometimes fainting. Pupillary abnormalities are also present at times in this setting.

Those are a couple: ANS failure can be JUST ABOUT ANYTHING your little heart (kidney, liver, or stomach) desires. Take whichever organ system you want in the body...take out the Autonomic controls and what do you have? Arrhythmias? Incontinence? Nausea/Vomiting? constipation, feelings of fullness, sensitivity to light and sound? lack of normal sweating? Want more info: www.healthtap.com/drsaghafi

See below: PoTS stands for Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, in which the patients have an abnormal response of the autonomic( "automatic") nervous system to standing up. This causes a rapid heartbeat and other symptoms. However, as opposed to Orthostatic Hypotension(OH), the BP usually doesn't fall. For excellent patient info on PoTS see: http://bit.ly/1F5vWEP for OH: http://bit.ly/1DnhWdz
