Depends on the test: Some tests can detect HIV about 2 weeks after infection, but most screening tests detect HIV 3 to 8 weeks after infection. Some advise... 1.Seek help from a doctor about your situation. 2.If you have unprotected sex you can take post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) within 72 hrs (and preferably sooner) to cut your risk in getting HIV. 3. Get tested for other sexually transmitted infections.
