No diff. in results: HyCoSy (hysterosalpingo constrast sonography) is an alternative to the x-ray procedure called hysterosalpingogram (HSG). Unlike HSG, HyCoSy is an ultrasound study and does not involve exposure to radiation or iodinated contrast material. HyCoSy is an inexpensive, fast, and well-tolerated method of determining tubal patency. Results from HSG and HyCoSy agree in ~90% cases.
