Uncontrolled Asthma: With established asthma the above symptoms are concerning. Worsening asthma symptoms like cough, shortness of breadth, and wheeze in addition to frequent nighttime awakenings and increased albuterol use all point to poorly controlled asthma. Physician needs to re-evaluate asthma control and consider stepping up therapy to including higher dose controller medication. Sleep position doesn't matter.
