Can't predict: Some individuals will have swollen lymph nodes, fever and malaise with no blisters and others will have an obvious outbreak without generalized symptoms. Antiviral medications do help to modify the course of herpes is started early in the infection, so if you are sure of the diagnosis, then starting meds at this stage may be helpful.
