Prim. ovar. failure?: Assuming that is what you mean. Fuller albright in 1942 reported a syndrome in young women with menopausal levels of fsh, low estrogen and amenorrhea. Primary ovarian insufficiency is distinguished from secondary ovarian insufficiency, which is the failure of the pituitary to secrete fsh. A low number of follicles is not uncommon in some forms of this syndrome, and some women can still conceive.

Follicle = egg: Often the term follicle is used synonymously with egg. They are technically not the same but it just means they saw what looked like a follicle/egg in your ovary. Pof as you know results in low estrogen and high follicle stimulating hormone fsh. Fsh usually has a quick spike right in the middle of the menstrual cycle and this usually causes the ovary to release an egg.
