Use cell count not %: Hi. The % monocytes, basophils, or any other cells in the WBC differential are not useful; cell counts (i.e., absolute cell number) should be expressed for meaningful data. In other words, cell % may be abnormal in the setting of normal cell count and no pathology. Talk with your doc who ordered the CBC/differential. Good luck!
