Ovulation : Since you are at mid cycle the most likely cause of spotting/bleeding is the hormonal swings that occur at the time of ovulation. This could also be due to taking pills at something other than the same time every day, infections, cervical irritation, or abnormal cells on the cervix but these are less likely. Hope this helps.
