Sounds like shin: Splints or medial tibial stress syndrome. It's related to repetitive stress to the shin bones(tibia) and the associated soft tissue. Excessive uphill, downhill, uneven terrain, or hard surfaces jogging/running contributes as does worn-out shoes or suboptimal biomechanics around the way your foot plants/strikes on the ground.
