Bruins and hums: turbulent neck noises have multiple causes from venous , to arterial venous, to arterial narrowing and some rare things like hyperthyroid noises etc. If really present, a vascular surgeon can frequently sort this out.

Turbulent blood flow: 20's female w. known heart murmur & mitral valve prolapse, MPV, has been describe with "neck turbulence"; indicating carotid artery bruits. Patient's age negates atherosclerosis. Referred cardiac flow murmur likely being heard; attendant with MPV. Young females with Hypermobility Syndrome & MPV oft have panic attacks, dizziness, fainting & other symptoms of P.O.T.S. "T" stands for Tachycardia.
