Sexual? Other?: Be sure recurrent UTI is the problem; STD (chlamydia, gonorrhea) can mimic UTI. True recurrent UTI also can be sexual; sex can massage bacteria into the urethra. UTI also can recur because previous episodes persist and other reasons. More prolonged treatment, or occasional dose of antibiotic (2-3 times a week, or following sex) often help. Discuss with MD, or see infectious disease specialist.
