Pregnancy?: The most common cause of late period is pregnancy so if there is any chance of that then take a pregnancy test. If you are not pregnant then there are many causes of missed or late periods including thyroid disease, stress, polycystic ovarian syndrome, hormonal shifts. If your periods have been regular in the past but now are remaining irregular, see your doctor.
