Plantar fasciitis: The most common cause of heel pain is plantar fasciitis. Treatment conservatively include stretching exercises for the fascia and achilles tendon, arch supports, freezing a water bottle and rolling in the arch, anti-inflammatories, and possible corticosteroid injections. stretching exercise: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/09/15/heel-pain-treatment/?_r=0

Supportive footwear: More supportive shoes and orthotic inserts are usually helpful. Stretching, ice/heat massage and anti-inflammatory medication also may help. If not and pain persists or worsens, see Podiatrist.
