Probably: About 80% of women who contract HPV will clear the virus from their body within about 1 year. By 3 years 90% of women have cleared the virus through the action of their immune system. The remaining 10% may clear it later but it also may remain in that 10% and can cause an increased risk for cervical, anal, and vulvar cancer.
