If someone were 6+mo pregnant, a hpt would be positive, correct? i know you can test too early, but do you get false - if you are too far into preg?

No: A 6 month pregnant woman will have a positive pregnancy test. HCG levels do decline after 9-12 weeks but are still high enough to produce a positive test. At six months there are other tests that may be more appropriate, such as an ultrasound examination.
