Not unless you have: additional medical problem. It is a heart medicine. If you are taking it , please do not stop without your doctor's consultation. Besides young person like yourself should be able to manage weight problem with healthy life style including diet and exercise.

Propranalol: or Inderal (propranolol) is a "beta blocker" and may be associated with weight gain "statistically" or by "word of mouth" since it is often used in cases of HYPERTHYROIDISM and as that disease is controlled (not by Inderal (propranolol) but by specific thyroid medication) weight gain occurs! It is not likely that its responsible for your weight gain! Hope this helps Dr Z
