Depends on symptoms: If your physician is truly concerned about either Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis you should be admitted to the hospital. Early recognition and immediate withdrawal of any potentially causative agents are critical first steps in management. If the diagnosis is unclear, then you should be seen by your primary doctor immediately so that the correct diagnosis can be made.
