Bed Abscess: Frequently on removal of GB from liver, the bed of the dissection will continue to drain bile due of open and partially transected bile ducts. If the collection incompletely drained, infection develops in the collection of bile. A sono will reveal residual collection and may require drain replacement and cultures to define organisms and proper antibiotics.
