Yes they can: yes they can it might take a long period of time and depend on why they had the procedure eventually the digestive system get reorganized and the absorption will be back to normal and the patient will start gaining weight i hope that answer your question good luck and thank you for using health tap

Depends: Some patients will gain some weight back but usually they do not gain all the weight back previous to the surgery.
