There is a major gi bug going through our school. my son woke up this morning very nauseous, but has not thrown up. could this be the bug?

Sure, and...: ...supportive care is certainly warranted at this time. If this is the same "bug", it should run its course just like everyone else at school (unless your son is immunocompromised or otherwise at risk). BUT, if fever, unremitting vomiting, bloody stool, significant abdominal pain, signs of dehydration, persistent symptoms then don't hesitate to get him a medical evaluation & treatment.

Nausea: There are different causes of nausea. If viral illness is going around in school, nausea may be from viral gastroenteritis. Other symptoms of viral illness like fever, vomiting, stomachache, Flu like symptoms, decrease PO intake may occur in the next 24 hours
