It depends: It depends on how well you trust your partner regarding monogamy and if there is no issue regarding IV drug use. HIV can also be spread through IV drug use. Not needing a retest depends on your level of trust, because your health depends on him being totally honest with you. Regardless if you engage in sexual activity I would advise Birth control to prevent pregnancy and Condoms for protection
