One or two days: Ovulation is the moment an egg is released, but there is a time of less than 24 hours where that egg can be fertilized by a sperm. The sperm can live inside a woman for up to 3-5 days, so intercourse a few days before ovulation can result in pregnancy. Women with shorter cycles may ovulate twice in the same month.
