Where was the: infection? A corneal infection can cause the surface to become less smooth and create dry spots. These areas are irritating leading to tearing and the feeling that something is in your eye. If this is the case then over the counter artificial tears will help. Feel free to repost with more details about the infection. Is the tearing only in the eye that had the infection?
