Unusual: Herpes simplex is usually transmitted from the infected persons mucosa to another persons exposed mucosa or skin surface so kissing on the cheek would be an unusual way of getting herpes Symplex but it is certainly possible especially if there was any preceding trauma involved but a definitive skin biopsy smear could be done along with consultation with your infectious disease physician
