Know details: Unless surgery is emergency due to airway obstruction, most H&N lesions which are squamous in origin are treated pre op with RT and if necessary chemo including Taxol (paclitaxel) and platinum. If necessary high dose MTX used with leukovorum rescue. Check to see if procedure is not tracheostomy to ensure airway during needed treatment.Lesions bestt reated with prior cytoreduction.
