It's not: It is not bad. It is not a gateway drug. It is all political. There has been no medical study ever to show it causes harm or death. However, some of the sources of marijuana contain impurities that may cause irritation when smoked or may be contaminated with other drugs. The reason it is illegal is completely political. In fact, it was widely grown in colonial america.
