Sure its heartburn?: The possibilities are numerous--ranging from acid reflux (i.e., heartburn) or a peptic ulcer to pancreatic/biliary disease, heart issue, even stress. Alarm signs include weight loss, bleeding, recurrent vomiting, tenderness, chest pain. Simple heartburn should respond to an over-the-counter acid blocker & diet manipulation (see earlier healthtap answers on gerd). Don't ignore persistent symptoms.
