Remove acetone from : skin by washing it with soap & water for 15 continuous minutes. Open a window & turn on an exhaust fan to avoid inhaling fumes. Acetone is absorbed through skin; it may irritate his already macerated thumb. It takes a large amount to cause headaches, nausea, confusion & dizziness. Don't worry about thumb sucking till he turns 5, but have his pediatrician & pediatric dentist check him out now.
