Please clarify: Hi. When a hypothyroid person is treated with l-thyroxine, we normalize their TSH. That person must continue to take their l-thyroxine to keep their thyroid function normal. Taking thyroid hormone treats, but does not cure, hypothyroidism; the hormone must keep on being taken. A person who's not hypothyroid (who has normal TSH, of course) should of course NOT take l-thyroxine - they're normal! OK?
