I have a conversion disorder and was wondering, other than therapy, what's the best way to overcome this disorder and live a somewhat normal life.

Change: You need to change your internal conversations and deal with your emotions and conflicts in a more direct and productive fashion. This is best done in psychotherapy.

Therapy: Psychotherapy is really your best bet usually in combination with psychopharmacological interventions that are targeted towards your specific symptoms. Finding and partnering with a good psychiatrist and psychologist will yield the greatest likelihood for successful treatment. It's a tough road ... But will benefit you in the long run. Stick with it & best of luck!
