A member asked:

What does it mean when your uvula is elongated?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

ThLongAnTheShortOfIt: It means your uvula is elongated. The uvula is an elongated structure. But if you mean TOO long, then it might irritate your throat or cause you to gag or swallow a lot or feel like there's a goldfish in there. Sometimes it will swell from an allergy, sensitivity or irritation, but with time it will shrink back down; sometimes medication is needed; rarely, surgery. Try ice chips, then your doc.
