Neuralgia: sometimes nerves get inflamed and affect a certain area served by that nerve. the cause can be multifactorial as in a virus or trauma. do you racall when it started and if there was a preceding incident?

Unknown pain: if it is a sharp/burning type pain ---with out a history of any trauma---it could be the early signs of herpes zoster--shingles-----unless its symptoms crosses the midlne---check with your doctor soon shingles starts with pain then goes to the typical rash within 3-5 days
