Pregnancy weight: It is very normal to gain a significant amount of weight in the first trimester, even when you don't eat or drink much during that time. During early pregnancy, a woman's blood volume will double. That increase in blood volume can account for an increase in about 8-10 lbs. Therefore, although someone does not increase their intake, their weight will still increase.
