Midcycle spotting: Assuming you are not on the pill, mid cycle spotting can be a normal physiologic happening during ovulation. This can occur some months, but not others. See your doc if persistent problems.

Spotting means......: Spotting means different things, depending on age, meds, etc. You didn't mention anything, except you didn't have sex, so pregnancy can be excluded. You should see your gyn who can question you further, and order tests. Sorry, can't give you any more w/out more info.
