R there newer, less hideous methods of tonsil removal anywhere in the world? something other than the horrendous conventional method?

Maybe: There are newer methods of tonsil removal that are claimed to be less problematic, resulting in less post-operative pain or bleeding but the data which support this claim is limited. Unfortunately this is just a difficult procedure to perform without significant post-operative pain and a significant risk of post-operative bleeding.
