I live at the beach and was screened by an allergist. is it really possible that i can actually be allergic soley to the ocean air?

No: Ocean air per se is not allergenic . Beach houses are more prone to have mold infestation and higher mite population and thus your problem is potentially from molds and/or dust mites. Is your allergist a B/C one?
