Why does my friend's butt have hives on it? what could it be?

Butt hives: Typically hives will appear at areas of pressure and heat; therefore buttocks and upper posterior thighs are normal locations. Are they really hives? They shouldn't stay there more than 24 hrs. Hives can be a part of a generalized allergic reaction to food, meds or stings, if they suddenly have appeared. Chronic hive causes are diverse.
