May be normal: It can be normal to spot at the beginning and end of a menstrual period. You do not say whether or not this occurred at the time when your period was due and how it differed from your normal periods or what you are using for contraception. All of these matter when trying to say what is going on. A full history is necessary first and you may need an exam and testing. Sorry I can't be of more help.
