Overweight father: if walking not an issue take walks together, so has company.Get a pedometer (and one 4 you) so can monitor 10,000 steps a day. People overeat because high calories foods are easy finger foods, so prepare low calories finger foods-roasted brussel sprouts, sweet potato chips, kale chips. Check his BMR http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ to monitor intake. Good luck

Parents: Your Dad has lived longed and experienced more than you have. He should be giving you advise, and not you to him. Your children may give you advise one day also. Relax and let your parents live. Your not going to change a lifetime but you could ruin it.
