Sounds ok: However, thrombosis at your age is rare and can be serious. Lymphatic drainage should be useful and I do not see any negative effects. Discuss blood testing for thrombosis with your doc. May be useful. Good luck.

Yes, but???: You can, but, you likely have swelling of post-thrombotic syndrome in which the veins are not working properly. Support stockings and intermittent elevation are the mainstays of therapy.
