GI: This is a biopsy (sample of tissue analyzed by a lab) of the gastric antrum (a portion of the stomach). Before the development of the breath test (in the US), this test was done (sometimes) for detection of a bacteria known to cause ulcers (Helicobacter Pylori). Hope that helps!
