A member asked:

My new dr. since i moved will not continue xanax (alprazolam) treatment despite steadily increasing bp unaffected by anti hypertensives. do i need xanax (alprazolam) again?

Need diff BP meds: Xanax (alprazolam) is not used to treat hypertension. Xanax (alprazolam) is used to treat anxiety, not Hypertension. If your current BP meds are not controlling your BP, you need to determine if you are first taking them at the right time. If so, you might need a higher dose or perhaps a different type of BP meds. Speak with your new doctor to help you. But to answer your last question, no you don't need Xanax (alprazolam) again for BP
