Get care immediately: Sounds like urticaria (hives). In addition to the itching and other discomforts (which can be treated), urticaria can be an early sign of a dangerous allergic reaction. If this is a new problem without known cause, call your doctor's office immediately; if not available, visit the nearest urgent care clinic or emergency department. Don't mess around with this!
