Sciatica: Sounds like sciatica - a symptom of a pinched nerve in the lower lumbar back region. Usually resolves with time. Key is to keep moving as tolerated. Try not to be too sedentary as too much rest isn't good either. Physical therapy often times helps. Otc tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen or aleve can help - but should be recommended by your physician.

See a doctor: A herniated disc can irritate the nerve as it comes out of the spine. This can cause a radiating pain down the leg. See a doctor as soon as possible. Good luck.
