No, unless is cancer: The simple kidney cyst is usually a benign finding and is not worrisome. Make sure that your doctor explain to you that it is not a "complex cyst". The latter may or may not be cancer. However, the overwhelming majority of cysts in the kidneys are simple and not a problem. The ultrasound usually diagnoses simple cyst with accuracy. If your doc said it is not worrisome then it must be simple cyst.
