Septate hymen: Many women will break down the septated area during tampon insertion or during first intercourse. I probably wouldn't do this in the office just because you were wanting birth control. Honestly if you are wanting it removed talk with a gynecologist. I would suggest you have it removed under at least a bit of sedation unless it is very thin.
